KMITL School of Engineering faculty invited to National Taiwan University (NTU).
Suradej Tretriluxana, PhD., assistant professor from department of electronics engineering, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) was invited to discuss and seek for research collaboration during March, 20-24, 2023 at National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taipei.Dr.Suradej whose research is in the area of health monitoring and assessment went to School & Graduate Institute of Physical Therapy, College of Medicine of NTU to meet professor Hsing-Kuo Wang. PhD, DPT., an expert in musculoskeletal ultrasound.Presented by his physical therapy graduate students, Prof. Wang shared to Dr.Suradej the application of ultrasound image analysis to various parts of body. This is one of the many collaborative works between engineers and medical professionals at NTU, Taiwan no.1 university.Taiwan and Thailand have the common demographic problem on rapid aging population. Both countries are developing technologies to help elderlies conveniently access the medical services at low cost. Discussion agrees that Research and Development (R&D) in healthcare engineering is in high demand and borderless. As KMITL owns Thailand largest engineering school, at electronics engineering department, engineers are trained to work in many industries including the healthcare sector. Aging society will be coming with many unpredicted issues and faster than expected, added Dr.Suradej.
